Oct 31 Decides Whether To Call For Defence In Altantuya Murder Case

SHAH ALAM, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- The High Court here will decide on Oct 31 whether to call for the defence of political analyst Abdul Razak Abdullah Baginda and two policemen charged with abetment and the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.
Justice Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin fixed the date today after the prosecution and counsel for Abdul Razak, Chief Insp Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar completed their submissions.
A total of 75 witnesses were called in the trial which lasted 151 days, stretching over a year from June 24 last year.Azilah, 32, and Sirul Azhar, 36, are charged with murdering Altantuya, 28, at Mukim Bukit Raja near here between 10pm on Oct 19, 2006 and 1am the following day.
Abdul Razak, 48, is charged with abetting them at his office at Bangunan Getah Asli in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, between 9.45am and 10.05am on Oct 18, 2006.-- BERNAMA
